Site Development

The Sarawak Infectious Disease Centre (SIDC) represents a monumental leap forward in the field of infectious disease research and management. Situated in the strategic location of Samarahan, adjacent to the Sarawak Heart Centre, the SIDC campus is being developed to become a hub of innovation, research, and therapeutic development.

Construction Phases

The construction of the SIDC has been meticulously planned in several distinct packages to ensure a holistic approach to the development of this state-of-the-art facility:

Package 1

Involves laying the groundwork and construction of the Administration Building and Laboratory Building, Engineering Block and Back of House Facilities.

Package 2

Focuses on the fit-out works for the laboratory, equipping it with cutting-edge technology and facilities necessary for Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) research.

Package 3

Comprises the mechanical & electrical works, ensuring that the centre is outfitted with the latest in sustainable and efficient building systems.
